Retroactive Wood Knocking?

Whoopsy daisy! I guess I had a little premature celebration. I had a 1 week course of antibiotics, which really seemed to be working well, that is, until the 1 week course ended and 2 days later I am back to square one. Honestly? I say one little positive thing and forget to knock on wood to ensure its success and this is what I get?!?!?! Unfathomable.

On a better note we were treated to a 3-2 Brewers victory over the Reds last night.
Nice braces.

Chicken Soup For the Soul: For the guy who has no Colon

Admittedly, my blog is taking on the tone of a bitter guy who is sick and dwells on it a lot. Unfortunately it just so happens that my blog was born under these trying circumstances (sigh). If I can actually stick with it though, and keep blogging, there will undoubtedly come a day when the "not-poopy" bloggings outnumber the "poopy" bloggings.

With that said, what would a blog be without a tribute to the spouse at some point? Sara, bless her heart, (you can say anything if you say "bless your/her heart" beforehand), doesn't often have energy to make lots of homemade dinners. (She does tons of other things though). Well, she was so sweet and came home from work today and prepared homemade chicken soup... I couldn't believe it. In fact, my first thought was "you can make chicken soup?!?!?!" I thought soup had to come in a can.

Well, it blew my mind. And I don't use that phrase lightly. I can never eat chicken soup out of the can again. Well done Sara... well done... (slow clapping in background).

The Most Perfect Day Ever!

Today was so great, I got to sleep in a little bit while Sara had to get up and go to work. I was just laying there, thinking about how awesome of a day it was because I was going to have Lime Jello Jigglers for breakfast. In fact, that is also what I had for breakfast the previous day... and lunch.... and dinner. In fact that's all I "ate" for the past two days. Those were some great Jigglers, and made the colonoscopy I had today totally worth it.

The other part that made it worth it was me coming out of my haze and telling the nurse I had just beat up an entire "skateboarding gang". I totally could in real life.

My Petunias

Well, I am a blogger now, so I don't have to feign masculinity. I planted some petunias today. And I confess this isn't my first time. It's true, I am a repeat petunia planter. I also cook and shave my legs, so what does that say about me?

Here are my petunias before planting.

Their future home awaits...

Just wait till these puppies get going. I will post some updates.

I also planted some tomatoes, bell peppers and squash. We'll see how that goes too.

Happy Memorial Day

Memorial Day 2009 will memorialize the beginning of the end of my first bout with "pouchitis". I have had diarrhea since April 28th, today is May 25th. You're thinking "but Tim, you always have diarrhea, you don't have a colon!" To which I respond, "I know, this is extra special diarrhea, accompanied by severe cramping, you wouldn't understand."
I am so snobby about my diarrhea, and I don't even care. A total diarrhea elitist.

Well, it's been a diarheaific month, but all good things come to an end. The antibiotics I was prescribed last thursday started working sometime this morning and I managed to have a lame, non-diarrhea-y bowel movement. Diarrhea is a nasty word.

Why Blog?

The better question is, why not blog?

  1. Blogging is for girls
  2. You have to think of stuff to say
  3. I don't have kids (yet) to post things about
  4. I am somewhat busy
However, I have been trying to force myself to start writing in my journal again, and I can't seem to do it. I have a very poor memory so I think there will be some benefit to myself to document some things in my life. Right this second, I can't say for sure that I will even tell anyone about this blog, I probably will. But I am not so comfortable that I think I really want to accept that right now. Enough, let the bloggin' begin.
